Forgiveness of the Fallen
What keeps the fallen angels tethered
While they are beaten, worn, and weathered
Their grace not light enough to rise
For heavy is the heart that lies
The truth inside that they must keep
For none can know that angels weep
and pace upon the earth in chains
As each sun rises, each moon wanes
"O humans, we are not like you!
You cannot know what we've been through!
We cannot fly, we cannot sing
with holy voices, and holy wing!"
An old man overheard and said "Nor I,
can rise on holy wing up high
We all are bound and tethered here
Yet still our Father holds us dear
Our connection may not be as strong
But still we sing with holy song
and pray each day that we may know
Through divine love will knowledge grow"
"Why for you is God so quick to forgive
We made one mistake and earthbound we must live
Our grace has been severed, it's like being dead"
