Standing behind Pennsylvania Northeastern SD40-2W 5342 "Tigger" from the 1st coach. I got lucky to sit right behind her during the whole trip :)
Pennsylvania Northeastern 5342 was built in 1985 for the Canadian National hauling main line freight in Canada. The W means it's a widecab which was a model of the SD40-2 offered for the Canadian market which sold well as it's an SD40-2 that offers a wider more comfy cab with better vision. CN retired her in 2011 and was bought by New hope for repaint and restoration and was painted in its black and orange color we know well, This unit gets it's name "Tigger" for a good reason but some also call it "The pumkin" or "The Tiger" but either way she's known for her flashy orange and black paint job. You can find her on weekly train on the PN from Lansdale to Souderton usually at night and I did see this engine do switching moves at Lansdale last Thursday (Boy what a sight that was and I had off from work!) And boy can her engine growl, one of the best SD40-2s I've ever heard.
