Dear Gwyneth, I agree with you when you say that the human being is fragile and contradictory. In my painting, I tried to show that and to make a link between the misery and the human condition. The misery, in all continents, to all epochs, to all societies, is at the same time sordid and revolting because she lets many people destitute and in desperate need of external help and assistance.
Among this people are innocent and vulnerable children who don't deserve such situation. The reasons for this misery, whether economic, war or natural disaster must not make us forget the immoral character of abandonment and the lack of solidarity that one part of humanity may have for another.
