'Ian Mckellen' graphite portrait

This portrait was a skin texture test, on the actor 'Sir Ian Mckellen', and i chose him because as his pretty old and has alot of wrinkles. And the more wrinkles and folds in the skin the easier it is to actually draw and make look realistic, which is why alot of the most photorealistic drawings on DA are actually of old people.

Here are some of my other graphite drawings.

Ian Mckellen is really cool dude. People of the nerd world, like me, remember him as Magneto or Gandalf. I do wish you had sketched hi in one of those avatars. Nevertheless, it is a good sketch, there are no two ways about that. The hair on his head is good but the eyebrow could have used just a little more detailing.
His sweater thingy or whatever that is looks a bit weird though. It would have been nicer to see him in a normal shirt. That's probably my only complaint about this artwork. Fine job as always, i just wish that you would draw certain actors and actresses in their most iconic roles....
