Gwrlais' Death

Chapter Two of a commissioned project for Sean Poage, Author's ‘Arthurian Age’ book series, Book III: 'Three Wicked Revelations'. This scene depicts the death of the Duke of Cornwall Gwrlais (often called Gorlois) of Tintagel, while Uther Pendragon watches on bitterly.

Uther was the father of Arthur, the mother of whom was Gwrlais’ wife Igraine. In some versions of the legend, Arthur was illegitimately conceived on this very night, though Sean’s retelling leaves this rather ambiguous ... After this moment, Uther becomes Igraine’s second husband.

I think it's worth noting that Uther’s dragon-helm is a pictorial representation of an awesome real-life replica made for Sean. Check it out on his website and socials!
