I purchased the Rokinon 8mm Ultra Wide Fisheye lens about 6 months ago, so I figured I had enough experience with it to write a review with my thoughts now. It's a really neat lens that renders all colors magnificently well. The fact that it's only $300 makes it a bargain too! However, there is one thing that most people find annoying – it's an all-manual lens, meaning you have to set the exposure and focus it yourself. The lens doesn't actually make electric contact with the camera.
Don't let that scare you away! Most of the auto-focus lenses on the market are over $600, so this fisheye lens is an absolute steal at a fraction of standard pricing. Once you get used to adjusting the exposure times and ISO settings, the fact that it's not an AF lens seems insignificant. I like to leave the apperture at F/8 and the focus ring at 2 feet.
