Falco’s combined army marched back east, reaching the Gurney river just south of where it joined the Gorin river. From there, they would follow the Gurney upstream all the way to the village called River Union. This route was chosen over the southern options, as the terrain was pretty good and flat, and the river provided them with a constant supply of fresh water. It also brought them relatively close to Thorolfson Castle, which would allow them to gather the latest news.
