Stretch endlessly the thread of a reel

In the snow, I brush the trees with a kiss

Each step a pause where time falls apart

Breathe, whisper: a hymn to beauty,

Silent branches, witnesses to the improbable

Another late start on a beautiful, overcast afternoon at Letchworth State Park. Given that my big toe was still showing lovely colors from being badly stubbed a few days previous, I chose a trail without major ups and downs.

The trail follows the edge of the hill until it finds a gentler way down into the valleys.
