The big wigs over here at Mortgage Whores Network (as I like to call our company) just held a meeting the week before Thanksgiving and told every one (including the poor saps that lost their jobs today) that “there will be no more lay off’s… we promise. We’ve hit as low as we will go and every one still here today is safe and secure till at least this time next year”… yeah fucking right. As 20 people cleaned up their cubes today we see that our upper management has really no problem lying right to every one’s face. It’s bad enough these people had to lose their jobs, but fuck its four week’s till Christmas, who lay’s people off during the Holidays, I mean really. And what pisses me off even more is that fact that they just hired a new Senior VP, it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that we worker bees are being let go to pay the ridiculously and unnecessary high salaries of these fat, moronic, couldn’t audit a lemonade stand to save their lives, useless VP’s. We’re a company of 80 people now, do we really need 6 VP’s, I mean really what the flying fuck.
So this was lay off round number 5 for me, I figure I’m playing Russian roulette with a six shooter, I’ve “won” five times in a row what are the chances of surviving shot number 6…? This is a real question; some one with a degree in probability and Statistics let me know. So if there’s some one in the Denver metro area with open jobs (preferably not in the mortgage field) shot me a comment or note. My numbers coming up here and I know it….
Just saw Enchanted and I must say it wasn’t bad, not great but not bad. First let me say if you like Disney Movies or have kids between the ages of 5 and 12 this is a pretty good movie. The plot pokes fun at the somewhat trivial nature of past Disney princess fairytales (Snow White, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty) while still coming thru with heart and magic. I warn you there’s some singing, lots of singing in fact, so if that’s not your cup of tea… skip it. The songs were a little on the super sweet side for me, and some seemed a tad forced, but hay its Disney. The acting was ok for a Disney movie; no one is walking away from this with a best actor nomination that’s for sure. There’s a lot to laugh at and laugh with in here, its fun if nothing else. With a bit of action and some romance mixed into to the classic fish out of water tale its fun for the whole family. There’s not a whole lot bad about the film, it is geared to a younger audience so whatever issues it may have I’ll put under the umbrella of youthful merriment. And with all that and still under a page, I feel comfortable giving this movie a nice warm fuzzy 6.0 out of 10. If you’re feeling a bit down and need a quick pick me up or you’re like me and have 4 nieces and 1 nephew between the ages of 4 and 10, then Enchanted is a pretty safe bet
