As August ends so does the Swim Suit/ Beach Party Jam. Thanks for all who joined in this time around, if you still want to submit a piece I’ll post it up. Also :iconangelcrusher: mega jam the AFL 2 is over (for me at least) I came in 3 in my group, so good luck to all those in the finals. Any ways on to the new stuff.

Now for some thing new, this time around I’m geeking out and would like if some of you geeked out with me. September’s Art Jam will be The Lantern Corps of the New “Green Lantern: The Darkest Night”. I’m a huge fan of GL and the new series provides a whole new level of creative possiblity.

For those of you who don’t know… The Green Lanterns are essincally the Police force of the universe, spaning all known space and hailing from many different spieces and worlds. Their Weapons are power rings that allow them to focus thought, emotion and energy into phyiscal objects, beams, barriers… pretty much what ever they’d like. The Yellow Lanters or the Sinestro corps are the enimes of the Green Lanters and any thing good. There’s eight Corps/ colors each with its own symbol and each powered by a different Emotion. Symbols for each Corp can be found here pdink.deviantart.com/art/The-L… . Some are Pure Good (Green), some souly evil (Red/ Yellow).

So heres the skinny, Draw Yourself, one of your Original Characters or create a new character as part of one of the 8 Lantern Corps. Make a bio if you’d like and just have fun.

Green Lantern Corps. Guardians of the Universe. Their power rings are powered by willpower.

Red Lantern Corps. Their power rings are fueled by rage/hate.

Orange Lantern Corps. Their rings are powered by avarice or greed

Yellow Corps. Their power rings are powered by fear.

Blue Lantern Corps. Their rings are powered by hope.

Indigo Lantern Corps. The Indigo Lanterns wield staffs powered by compassion.

Violet Lantern Corps. Their rings are powered by love.

Black Lantern Corps. The Black Lantern power rings reanimate the dead It remains unknown by what emotion they are powered

For more Information on the Green Lantern mythos just ask me or the cloest geek.

So good news… I’ve finally found a new job. YAY!  So yeah after nearly four months of being unemployed I start my new job on Tuesday of next week.  In fact I was offered two jobs today, both with in minutes of each other.  The first was a retail rig selling and renting tuxedos and suits.  It was a management position but was pretty crappy pay.  The second (the one I took) is in the Foreclosure business which in the US (and Colorado especially) is really booming so I should be pretty secure.  It’s a cubical monkey job but it pays close to my previous salary so yeah I went with that.  So yeah.  What this means… A lot less Deviant Art, this place is super strict when it comes to internet usage so I wont being logging on often.  Maybe only a few times a month really from my home computer.  So yeah, be seeing you all.  Happy Drawing.

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings: Movie Review. Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is the latest offering from Marvel and Disney and is the 25th film in the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe). The second of four Marvel movies hitting the theaters, if they stay open, in this clusterfuck of a 2021. The film is helmed by Destin Daniel Cretton the director of Short Term 12 and Just Mercy with Cretton also co-writing the screenplay and story with Dave Callaham. Relative newcomer and actual stock photo model Simu Liu leads a mostly Asian cast as Xu Shang-Chi with Awkwafina, Meng’er Zhang, Tony Leung, Michelle Yeoh and Fala Chen supporting to various degrees. Shang-Chi and the Legend of…. I’m not going to type that out every fucking time, is an 132 minute martial arts packed action movie more at home with movies like Crouching Tiger than Captain America. As per usual I’ll try to keep spoilers to a minimum going forward. Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings follows well…

Justice League: Throne of Atlantis review

Mar 9, 2015
The latest from DC animation Studios is Justice League: Throne of Atlantis; the second excursion into the New 52 universe via animated feature. As with all DC animated features of late it’s beautifully visually realized but sadly this one seems to fall flat in terms of Story and Plot. The following review may contain minor spoilers so readers beware.  Justice League: Throne of Atlantis picks up a few months after the events of the previous film Justice League: War.  The members of the recently formed League are still trying to work together and would much prefer to go solo and see the League as only a publicity stunt. As the different...

Kingsmen: The Secret Service Review

Feb 23, 2015
Did your wife or girlfriend insist that you go see Fifty Shades of Grey for Valentine’s Day? Poor sucker. The Wife and I went out and saw Kingsmen: The Secret Service because she’s a down ass chick.  It’s smooth, it’s funny, it’s violent, it’s unapologetically British and it’s definitely totally Dench. Kingsmen: The Secret Service is a non-super hero comic book adaptation spy extravaganza from director Mathew Vaughn and comic book genius Mark Millar. The following review may contain some minor spoilers so readers beware.    The Kingsmen are a Kabul of clandestine English gentlemen who so happen to be the world’s foremost purveyors of f...

Taken 3 Review

Jan 23, 2015
Taken 3. It's the first movie I've gotten to see in 2015 and well I just hope this year gets better. Let me first say Taken is one of my Favorite action films of the last 10 years... its a wonderfully brutal action movie that no one really saw coming. Now let me say Taken 2 was, by my account, Stupid and witless and poor beyond reason and expectation. So why did I pay for Taken 3? Because its January, which is widely considered the toilet bowl of movie seasons, and if you're going to play hookie from work to watch a movie and eat hot wings you don't want to go to Selma or American Sniper. In retrospect probably should have seen either on...
