This pencil drawing is my tribute to the fantastic sculpture by Charles Alphonse 'Achille' Gumery, who portrait the mythical figure of Achilles - The son of the mortal Peleus and the sea nymph Thetis.

Drawn on Bristol Board Smooth paper and measuring 37cm wide and 50cm high, the complete drawing took around 35 hours to finish.

Excellent movement on the plumage for the helmet.

I admire your Oeuvre, but I find the texture of this a little plain, maybe because of the smooth material of stone/marble ...

So that's what he looked like ... I always wondered.
Why is looking down at the back of his foot?

Wait, wait, you DREW this??!?!?!?! HOLY COW!!! That's amazing. I thought it was a picture of something you sculpted (not that THAT wouldn't have been neat too). Man, you made this certainly look 3D. I'm beyond impressed. Great job!
