surreal energy III

I have always been a fan of industry and infrastructure as art, and power distribution gives us so many complex lines to look at. I've looked through your "surreal energy" series, and this is my favorite of the batch.

The red sky matches the mood in sort of an industrial dystopian sense -- a bright blue sky would have left this image much less effective. The capturing of the subjects in silhouette captures their essential value, that being their form rather than their color or detail. The two boxes with red lights act as both primary and secondary subjects, while also leading the eye further back in to the plane. The use of a limited depth of field to put the more complex far plane slightly out of focus makes the entire composition both more natural looking and less chaotic.
