Here we go, this is for all you Prototype fans.. I've had hundreds of comments asking me to make a pic for this game so here it is :D

I loved creating this, so much fun! I really wanted it to be an action-packed image.. Personally I think I could've add even more chaos but I'm just so keen to start on my next pic!

I'm not a huge fan of Prototype, I think the gameplay and graphics could have been much better. This could have been the best game ever but it lacked in certain things! The story was basic!

- This was done in about 10 hours
- Photoshop CS3
- Wacom Graphics tablet

Please let me know what you think! Maybe a critique would be nice?

Looks good for the most part but I will of coarse go more in-depth with this

Good: the coloring and sketch work is great and it truly looks badass in a lot of ways. I don't understand much about either of these characters cuz I have never played the game but it looks really cool.

Bad: mostly comes down to two things. For one the limbs of the characters look weird. Like how the hooded bloke has a hand bigger than his fucking body or how his head looks a mile long. Then their facial animations both look like they're trying to take a really painful shit in the middle of the fight.

Patrick is a very talented young artist. Both his rendering skills, and his computer skills are already at nearly a professional level. His development from here will lead him, I believe, anywhere he wants to go.

This piece, like many of his works, makes it hard to find something to be unhappy about. Even with a few extremely minor errors that might have been addressed had he done this in a professional art department, this image has an impact and a sense of dynamic energy that is absolutely captivating.

The color work is subtle, but strong enough to support the loose, exagerated drawing style Patrick does so well. It darkens and brightens, and saturates exactly where and when it needs to. The highlites and shadows are effective, without drawing undue attention to themselves.

Since this piece is already good enough to serve as a professional piece, I will critique it accordingly. Had I been Patrick's art director for this piece, I would have had him work on the monster in the lower left corner. The rendering of it is not bad now, but in light of the action in the rest of the piece, I'd would have liked ot have seen a lot more motion and angular dynamics in the monster.

Also, I would have had him provide a little more nagative, or un-used space at the edges pf the work, so that none of the marvelous drawing and coloring he did was at risk of being cropped off at the edges. Typically, professional pieces that are set pieces like this, will allow about twice as much negative space at the edges of the canvas than he has used here.

Bot of these are weak critiques at best. Although the monster is, perhaps, a bit less dynamic than it could be, it is still very well drawn and interesting to look at, and it fits the composition, and the piece in general just fine. And the issue of negative space is entirely forgiveable owing to the fact that this spectacular image was done for no better reason than a love of drawing and coloring.

If we all don't get a chance to see this fine young artist's work gracing the covers of comics and video games and all sorts of hot products, it will be a crying shame.

Wow thankyou so much, that really does help! I agree about the negative space that could have been used with the monster. To show more motion and make it seem like they're higher than we think!

I really appreciate that, thanx again

I think this captures the madness in some battles really well. Fighting a bunch of Hunters and Zombies and being shot at with Helicopters?
No problem, I'm just on a friggin' Time Limit!!

I love the movement and flow of the lines, they make it so realistic. Your coloring skills really are incredible. I know you asked for critiques, but i have none. Congratulations! You're an inspiration!

you've been playing too much prototype when you don't know or understand something and decide "i'll eat someone, and then i'll be able to figure it out!"
