The Margay, the Ocelot and the Tilcayo
Margo moved down through the streets of Amazon Rising, her brown eyes darting around as she padded down the dirt path. As the young margay climbed up a tree, her rotating ankles helping to climb up the tree with the ease of a squirrel, she then noticed something else.
It was a strange cat, looking a bit like an Oncilla, but the pattern didn’t seem to match an Oncilla. The spots seemed a bit like a leopard, and this particular cat looked a bit like a small margay but smaller too.
Was he an Oncilla? Margo thought to herself.
Then, at the same time, the strange leopard-spotted cat turned towards Margo. Margo’s tail swished from side to side as the small spotted cat also faced her, back slightly arched.
“Hey there,” Margo replied.
“Hello. You’re not an ocelot, are you?” The small cat responded, his voice clearly indicative of an adolescent, similar to her in age.
Margo shook her head.
“Trust me, an ocelot would be a lot bigger than I am,” Margo replied. “If I may ask, what’s

Zoological City episode 108
“Are you…Chief Nyani?” Kaito asked nervously.
The silverback nodded. “Please, call me Nyani.”
Everyone was absolutely surprised to hear this. This was Chief Nyani?! He was surprisingly laid back. But then again, that did seem to be the case for gorillas. Kaito remembered watching some documentaries of those giant apes back at home, and he was certainly surprised about how chill they were compared to in the movies back then.
“So, Nyani, how exactly are we going to deal with the bush pigs as well as the chimpanzees?” Katherine then asked, approaching him boldly, but at the same time, maintaining a respectful pace while trying to avoid direct eye contact with the silverback.
“You’re familiar with the big rule of primates,” Nyani replied calmly.
Katherine nodded and smiled, keeping her teeth hidden as she chuckled.
“I am,” she replied.
Never look any primate in the eye directly or show your teeth at them, as they will often mistake that as a challenge or a threat and they may

Avenue Zoo episode 3
Azusa sat down in silence with Sibyl in the cave. The snow leopard was equally silent, and both of them were seemingly lost in thought. Azusa looked at her bare arm as well, envisioning the bracelet that once belonged to her mother.
The awkward silence was finally broken by Sibyl. The snow leopard faced Azusa, her blue eyes facing the violet and green eyes of her human roommate.
“What is the significance of the bracelet might I ask?” Sibyl asked softly.
Azusa sighed. “Well, that bracelet originally belonged to my mother for a start, and I kept it with me ever since she gave it to me when I was younger,” she replied.
Sibyl nodded. “What exactly was she like?” The snow leopard asked.
Azusa smiled. “Well, my mother was brave, kind, had a strong sense of duty too, same as my dad. Could be scary at times but meant well too. She was also a firefighter back at my home town, which is pretty cool,” she replied, stroking one of her twin tails.
Sibyl nodded. But then, her eyes widened too.

Violet Eyes in the Night ch. 6
“So this is the Ozarks eh?” Mary asked, peering out of the window.
“Apparently so,” Barbara replied as she and Zi Jing looked out the window of one of the cars.
All around them were immense mountains along with dense forests too. The trees stuck out for miles and the leafy canopy surrounded miles too. Zayne approached the two girls as well, his eyes also trying to get a good view of the surroundings. The past month had been relatively mundane ever since the first tiger sighting in New York City.
For Zi Jing, it was definitely a much needed reprieve as well. Hopefully, she was also able to get the business of being a tiger shifter off her mind for the time being. Since her dad was one of the chaperones, maybe she and him could also connect with one another. Shawn was also available to hang out with her as well, and being one of the few people that knew of her secret outside of her family, she also felt confident in confiding with him as well.
“Are you guys seeing that?!” Mary

Zoological City: Night Stalkers ch. 4
Sundari looked around, her green eyes looking around in the dark chamber. She paced around in the dark, searching for any openings or loose bars on the door. “What exactly is this place?” Sundari asked herself. “Nice to see you’re awake,” a familiar almost sadistic voice spoke. Sundari turned around, sparks flying in her green eyes. “Ichiko!”
Ichiko seemed to smile as she walked up to the bars. “In the flesh,” she said. Sundari then turned and noticed Betty. “You I definitely remember,” Sundari said. Betty chuckled. “What’s my name?” The bush dog said. Sundari rolled her eyes in annoyance. “Do not remind me of those films,” she said. A Lar gibbon then banged on the bars, the resulting rattling noise caused Sundari to back up slightly! “Do it again Lars!” Betty said. Lars hit the bars of the cage door again repeatedly, again and again and again! Sundari then morphed into her tiger form and with an almighty roar, she slashed at Lars, who immediately leapt out of the way! “Ha ha!” He

The Rise of Tayasu ch. 4
Some time had passed, and Zoological City has had heavy rain for the past week, going on and off each day. Many of the animals, beastmen and humans in the city were forced to stay indoors during this time. At the same time, those that did love the water, such as the various water creatures, mudskippers, four-eyed fish, and a good number of other creatures, the rains were a welcome relief from the sweltering heat.
Within a small house on the edge of the ocean, a young girl, around the age of ten or eleven years, with fair skin and black hair looked out the window, watching at the rain as it fell from the sky next to a hippo who was equal to her in age, by hippo standards at least.
“Wow Hector. Kinda nice to see it rain like this after so long right?” the little girl asked.
“Indeed Katrina. It certainly beats the heat of the city, particularly if you have sensitive skin like I do,” Hector replied.
“Hector, Katrina! I got lunch ready for you!” a woman with blue eyes and long

Blood Moon II: Nocturne ch. 1
It was yet another evening, and summer was already in the air of New York City. The warmth of the summer breeze swept through the air as it blew past Nathaniel. The town of Briarwood was starting to become a lot more welcoming to him nowadays than when it had been a year ago.
School had just gotten on break, and everyone was finally starting to enjoy the warmer weather as well as all of the activities that the warm weather brought with it too. Nathaniel himself personally liked this weather. Winter was always fairly uncomfortable for him and he and his parents both had to deal with the apartment lacking heat too.
Of course, there were some good points with the cold weather. He did get to hang out with some of his friends. Trey and Kimberly were some of those. And a few of them weren’t human anymore.
Being in Nicolas and Savannah’s hideout on the edge of Forest Park was definitely a pretty fascinating and slightly unnerving experience, he thought to himself.
It wasn’t just

Fish Life: Quest for Neptune's Trident ch. 4
Sigourney held onto Makona’s fin with an ever tightening grip as the mako shark followed Xiphial and Cal into the canyon. Frieda swam alongside Sigourney. The eel’s sinuous body meant that her anguilliform style of swimming allowed her excellent maneuverability when she squeezed through some of the cracks and crevices of the canyon wall along with its various nooks and crannies.
Sigourney’s eyes looked around too. She was immediately enthralled by the sight of the Hudson Canyon. Large walls of rocks, most likely shale or sandstone, formed the submarine canyon. Numerous holes led into caves in the walls of the canyon. Sigourney was taken by surprise at the haunting beauty of the canyon.
And all of it was underneath the ocean of New York City!
But at the same time, where were all of the other fish? Shouldn’t this place be swarming with fish if this was a refuge for them?
Frieda sniffed the water, trying to get a good whiff of any fish scent.
Frieda turned to the others.

The Last Titanopteran ch. 1
The sun shone high over the grassy fields of Great Meadow. Flowers bloomed open as the warm spring air wafted in the breeze. May had finally arrived and many of the insects of Great Meadow were now starting to become active. The rays of the sun strengthened the muscles of the insects, rejuvenating them with renewed strength and vigor.
A peacock butterfly alighted onto a flower, his gossamer wings keeping his relatively plump body aloft and balance. As he rested on the petal, his long proboscis unfurled and he sipped up the sweet nectar of the plant. Little did he know that it would potentially be his last drink.
High above in the skies, a large female Emperor dragonfly fluttered in the sky. Her two pairs of long, slender and powerful veined wings powered her through the air. She was on the hunt, and it was her first hunt on the wing ever since she crawled out from the water the previous night during her final days as an aquatic nymph. Her large blue eyes, each equipped with
