This 36"x36" canvas, acrylic and gold pigment painting was done in layers. We began by printing my lover's body, covered in paint, in various posed on the piece. Hands, breasts, thighs- can all be found hidden withing the form. Brush strokes, fears, splattered paint- all mix in.
The piece is called "Perspective" for 2 reasons. The first is that it can be hung from any side or any point, and there is no correct way "up"- making it 8 paintings in one. The second is that as the piece was made, my lover and I had very different perspectives on the experience- when it was intimate and when it was distant, when we connected and when we felt alienated.
