I love how every-day this is... and yet how very intimate.  :D

I love the warmth and sentiment of this piece, but I'm curious about the lighting choice. At least initially the contrast draws the eye away from the focal point of the tie. It leaves a bit of room for surprise, but it also risks deflecting the viewers attention. It works well here because the visual elements aren't "busy" so the viewer will settle on the tie eventually. The swatch of warm color also sets a tone that the cool color scheme might otherwise mute. I'm not criticizing the choice, just trying to learn from it. Of course, I'm not a visual artist anyway, so the knowledge gained may not be completely practical, but learning to look at the world from new angles is critical for a poet as well. :)
Fine work as always. Thanks for sharing it.

Thank you.
GREAT comment...  I specifically did a two beat reading on this image to create a stronger sense of intimacy.
when you see the image as a thumbnail, or just when you see it for the very first  time, you only notice the contrast of inside and outside, and you know there is someone inside... it's only when you dig a little deeper that you understand what is going on with them and by having to work your way through the new meaning of the image, you are( hopefully) a little more involved and feel a little more like a voyeur( not necessarily in a bad way, but.. you are looking at people's private moments.. I AM putting this out for you)...
That's the reasoning behind the composition choice.

Makes sense?

It does make sense. I'm by no means an expert in digital or visual art, so I was just exploring a little. Your work makes effective use of light, and your compositions are generally so strong that I assumed that there was a reason behind the choices involved. I appreciate that you've taken the time to give me a brief lesson. Thanks.
