Description
Hey!
Today, I designed Apple's new VisionOS UI Concept. I'm thrilled to share the details with you below. I'll be working on additional screens in the near future, possibly incorporating some exciting UI motions. Stay tuned for more updates!
As most of you would agree, the Vision Pro looks absolutely incredible (except for that price point, oof). I'm really enjoying reading all the conversations people are having regarding the positive and negative aspects. Are you excited for it, or is it just meh?
Anyway, hardware aside, we know that VisionOS is going to be a game-changer, so I couldn't stop myself from designing this. There's always that creative itch when anything new comes out.
There hasn't been an official UI kit released by Apple yet, so I went back and looked at all the demo videos and articles from Apple. I discovered a lot of interesting details and used that information to design this concept.
A couple of key points...
Shadows
All windows cast shadows to their surroundings so they feels like it truly belong there. You can see this included in my design.
Corner Scale
Little icon at the corner that you can use to scale up or down the window, you can see this in my design as well.
Transparency
Most obvious part of this but it looks really great, I guess all that time spent on those glassmorphism design trend a few years ago will finally pay off 😅
Reflections
If you look at the demo videos closely you can see that some photos and videos of the window actually cast reflections to the near objects so it blends well with the environment.
What are your thoughts on this design? I'm interested in hearing your feedback.
