An idea I got at the zoo, watching the seals in their aquarium. I found it interesting the way they looked, half in and half out of the water.
This is Glamourous Jessi floating in a waterlogged superellipsoid. I know, the black and white checkered ground is so cliche but I thought it made a nice pattern in the water.
Used Poser, OBJUVPOV, POV-Ray.

Very cool. She would look good in her block of ice on a hot sandy beach with the sun above. If she was holding a chilled can of pop (her hand holding it outside the block), that could almost be material for a pop ad. :)

Yeah, I was thinking of the cool beverage idea too. More like a beer or a tropical drink, maybe with a guy's arm giving it to her on a tray? Maybe I should do another version. I don't like the checker floor too much anyway. And the ice is supposed to be water, but, you're right, it looks like ice.

This one did not require much coding on my part. :) The shadow, yes, I noticed that too. A result of how POV-Ray renders the picture. I don't know if there's a way to correct that. The bumpy look in the water is sort of faked by POV-Ray, you can see that the edges of the water are not bumpy, which is also unrealistic. But, I'm not really going for realism here anyway. :)

Cool!
So this is the result of a massive amount of data and code being processed to represent a 3d visual enviroment?
And the idea came out of watching a bunch of seals?
You were right with the ground, a fixed pattern would really add a nicer effect to it.

Just one thing: is there a shadow being projected, left side of the image? How is it that its not distorted somehow by the water prism?
