Description

Birthday present for my brother this year! He loved it.

Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament - one of my favourite titles of hers! The text, "Ave Verum Corpus, natum de Maria Virgine," translates to, "Hail, True Body, born of the Virgin Mary" - his favourite Adoration hymn.
I wrote the 'u's as 'v's, as they used to write them in Latin.

I'm trying to work on a Saint Faustina painting for a dear friend of mine, but I'm stalled... Tried the profile shot, but I found out her veil/coronet thing would cover her beautiful face! :(

----
[edit]
Fixed a bit of her halo (you can't see it now, though), fixed her mantle, blended some clouds, and I added beams of light, per my brother's request. I feel like I should have Handel's Messiah playing when you open this page or something. LOL
Never done light like that before; too much??

----

16 days; photoshop CS4 ex. + paint tool sai + wacom. I went through soooooo many songs on Pandora's Gregorian and Byzantine Chant stations...

In a land of old, where tales are told,

Of a woman so kind, with a heart of gold.

Saint Elisabeth, a princess of grace,

A servant of God, with love on her face.

Born into wealth, but with a humble heart,

She gave to the poor, and played her part.

A mother to all, a friend so true,

Saint Elisabeth, we honor you.

With open arms and gentle touch,

She healed the sick, the poor, and such.

A beacon of hope, in times of need,

Saint Elisabeth, a saint indeed.

In the face of hardship, she stood tall,

A symbol of faith, for one and all.

With love in her heart and God by her side,

Saint Elisabeth, a true guide.

Her legacy lives on, through the ages,

A tale of love, in history's pages.

A saint of old, but still so new,

Saint Elisabeth, we honor you.
