This lineart/crossover was requested by: ~lEoRnArDo21st
I'll upload the lineart itself later, and post a linkie to it here too :)

I just had tons of fun playing around with this background, adding the leaves and birds, and practicing on painting rocks. Aaah, I think I'm addicted! If only school would allow me to do this more often! :rage:

This is definitely a fun crossover!!  Overall, I enjoy the pose, and feel that it has some nice movement to it.  There's a little bit off with the hand anatomy, which is most obvious in the finger lengths and sharp angles of her left hand, but the rest of the anatomy reads relatively solid.  You did a really nice job on the show that faces towards us in perspective!  The thing I think you could have pushed a little further would be the background.  There's nothing really WRONG, but I think it could be as refined as your character!!  Some of the edges of the rock get lost on the background, because they're a very similar tone.  You could add a slightly sharper/lighter highlight on the edges to separate it, or have the background be a bit darker behind.  I think the thing that annoys me the most is the grass, because while everything else is hand painted, it really reads grass brush.  Now, I know WHY the grass brush is used (holy crap, so much time saved!) but it's a good idea to very sparingly use it.  Right now while you did well painting in individual strands to get some uniqueness it's actually a little too OVERtextured compared to the rest of the piece.
The easiest way to explain this is to look at the animation background art directly!
images5.fanpop.com/image/photo… As you can see here, things like grass or other heavily textured items are painted in FIRST as shapes, and then only a little bit of texture is added to show "hey, this is grass"  Often, less is more with complex items.
Lots of animation backgrounds tend to pick and choose where they want to show detail, and use it to bring focus to areas they want you to look at (while also not being TOO distracting.  there's a character afterall)  There tends to be a lot of repeated detail like with trees, brushes, or certain types of grasses, but they're strategically placed in order to give your eyes a lot of spots to sort of rest on.  Notice, too, how most of the highly complex spots also tend to be similar in value or tone, as not to draw the eye too much.  You did, however do VERY well in receding the background in space :)

Gods, you are fantastic! Where can I find more of your comments on DA? Is there a way to do that? xD
This is very educational, with the links and everything! I feel very inspired to analyze Disney backgrounds right now, and how they've used it to create focus on the characters. You are completely right about the grass, at this point it irks me myself as well - how could I have done that!? Aaagh xD
Again, I appreciate this so much, thank you! Thank you, thank you!
