I support Openmindedness

This is a stamp I made a few days ago, but I decided to post it now since my computer wasn't cooperating before.

Anyways, I'm open for discussion on this as long as it doesn't include a 'flame war' or something of the sort over it (which I doubt will happen).

What I mean by 'being open minded' is that I'm always open to discussion and opinions on the matter (unless, of course, it is obvious fact and not just an opinion).
For example, I'm open to marriage (gay, straight, or otherwise), sexuality (homosexual, heterosexual, bisexual, etc), religion (Christianity, Buddhism, Hinduism, Judaism, etc), and many other things. I wont try to change your thoughts on the matter but I may mention things that could possibly change your opinion, however, that doesn't mean I intend to change it or make it change.

I got this idea when I was looking through comments on an atheism stamp. A lot of people aren't very empathetic or open-minded on subjects such as that and those are the things that cause arguments that grow into fights then wars. I am completely against arguing over such petty matters. If someone believes strongly enough in something, they should respect others' thoughts and opinions on it and not just try to change others because its not their own.

 you can use this (only if subscribed) if you want to or not. If you disagree with all of it, then don't bother using it.

Say what you please, just don't bother others about it or comments will be disabled.

Thank you for your time.

This is a wonderful message.

Well, it's kind of rare to see open minded people theses days. Each time I let know my opinion, people become oddly quiet. Then, they go to another activity, already forgotten me. They get suddenly busy and ditch me.
Is letting know our opinion is so wrong?! Sometime, I got even the impression it is a crime.
Though, I'm always open of what people think or said. I can be wrong, and because of that, I always suspend my judgement.
I always say my opinion, no matter what. But I also respect another than mine. I'm often curious to know what people would think about something. I see that as learning.

Haha, this thing is really old, but I haven't changed what I think about it too much, so I can still understand/empathize with what you're saying.
I suppose unpopular opinions can have that sort of affect, or at least when it comes to telling them to people who disagree/don't hold the same opinion.  Though sometimes they like to argue, haha.  Don't know if that's better than outright ignoring, though.

They argue or they ignore, depending of their mood I guess.
I think it's still immature.

This is a very good stamp. May I use it for my deviant ID and journals?

I'm suddenly reminded of an experience I had many years ago...
A long time ago, my friends invited me to a party on the day before X'mas Eve. I was shocked that instead of Christmas songs they were playing heavy metal, such as "Cradle of Filth" among other things. When I nicely asked them to play X'mas songs, this was how they responded;
"You Christians are all the same, always wanting things to be religious all the time."
"If you want to hear some ~expletive~ X'mas songs go to church."
Then I told them that I was a muslim but I don't let my religion stop me from enjoying other holidays, even from different religions, because I can tolerate other folks' faith and beliefs.
They were quiet when I left the party.

This is an excellent stamp. I just wish more people felt this way. I nearly lost a good friend last year because she didn't think I believed EXACTLY RIGHT and wouldn't discuss. She'd only insist that she was right and I was wrong.

Why thank you, tis what I like to read ^^

Yeah, my cousin/bestfriend and I had a similar argument last year as well, about religion & gay marriage >3<
tis very unfortunate that such arguments can sometimes break relationships

It is. We had been close for a few years, and that semester of arguing nearly ruined it. She's given up now, but I still have trouble talking to her.

Good stamp. I for one don't care if people are homosexual, atheist, or whatever, but I don't have to approve of their beliefs. ^__^ I should hope they respect me for wanting to believe in God and traditional marriage. One must stand for their own beliefs right?

Ah yes, hehe. Just because one may support open-mindedness, doesnt mean that he/she must also support things that arent his/her beilefs. ^^
well put indeed. I also believe in God, but also believe in asexuality. >w<
thanks for commenting 8D

Something struck me as odd here....
What is wrong with asexuality??
I am also Christian, but if one has no desire for sex then it may mean that they are called for a celibate lifestyle.

Or did you mean homosexuality???
In that case it's an entirely different story.

Ah, I see. I meant from that that I both believe in god and am asexual, however, I also have no problem with homosexuality either :3
Nothing's wrong with any of it though :3

This is a good stamp with a good message and intention. I read your artist comment, and I think you have the right way to look at things.

Being open-minded is one of the most important characteristics a human should have. There are so many people who attack, bash and feel contempt for others who simply happen to see things differently the way they do. Especially when it comes to religion or interpretation of fictional works (don't get me started on this >_>...) some people think their interpretation is the only one valid that MUST be right. Blergh !

I also love your "I wont try to change your thoughts on the matter but I may mention things that could possibly change your opinion, however, that doesn't mean I intend to change it or make it change." statement :). Well said. And it sounds so peaceful, too.

^^ Why thank you. I'm glad you see it that way.
<D Yeah, I've seen that a lot for some reason. It's as though if their opinion isnt seen as solid fact that no one else's opinion is valid at all.

^^ thanks for the lovely comment
