Philip II of Macedon by Panaiotis Philip II of Macedon by Panaiotis
Viste le recenti scoperte di Anfipoli era doveroso un omaggio alla dinastia Macedone... ecco la mia versione di Filippo II il Macedone, padre di Alessandro Magno, le cui ossa furono ritrovate a Verghina del 1977

Incredible. I really like these portraits. They're hyper-realistic!

Thank you so much, I think that Philip is the most successful of this series of portraits. And I also had good references for this reconstruction ;)

Most excellent work sir; I must admit that a part of my mind (a cheeky, impudent part) suspects that this is Phillip of Macedon enduring a COLOSSAL hangover (hence his rather gruesome expression!).

Ahahahahhaha... Thats Libra! You have a good sense of observation. It might be!
I think this portrait of Philip is much closer to the original than the ones I've seen since today. I have been studied on the basis of representations known (coins, fresco, ivory, ect.).

It is a superb image of Phillip of Macedon, please don't let my delusions of humour distract from my fulsome admiration of this piece!:) (Smile)

Great work! I can imagine Philip II looked like this, all battle-hardened, scarred and one-eyed ^^

Thanks, I appreciate very much :)
The portraits have been studied on the basis of representations known. Later, on the blog, I will add more info for Philip II and to each characters to describe technique, various steps and all references used for the reconstructions

Ehehe... ho usato una tecnica di fotoritocco che mi consente di risparmiare molto tempo e aumenta la resa, soprattutto nelle ricostruzioni storiche!
Beh comunque grazie Vittoria :)
