Mc Clelland Sculpture Park/Gallery (14/3/2018)
Today we visited Mc Clelland sculpture park/gallery, we firstly went to the gallery for an around half an hour to look at various landscape artworks which were all different and unique in their own way. Some were really detailed where as some were really abstract or minimalistic, demonstrating how people interpret things differently or how they wish to represent it. One work in particular demonstrated the process one of the artists went through to do her work in which she was in the environment but in the worst weather for her to be able to produce something accurate, the wind was blowing over her easel and herself along with. Guest artist speaker: Bill Hay (7/3/2018)
Today we listened to Bill Hay talk to us about his work and how he creates his work. In a lot of his work he will take materials from nature or what he has found outside. His work is very abstract and many are based around politics in Australia that are depicted in interesting ways. He also creates paintings of his friends and people he has come across in his travels. He does both sculptures and paintings and varys in style, some of his work is much more defined than others and uses a variety of mediums which he may apply differently to give the work a particular aesthetic. National Gallery of Victoria excursion (28/2/2018)
Today we went to the National Gallery of Victoria, throughout the gallery there are various styles, mediums, cultures, historical and contemporary artworks. Going through the gallery i found a lot of works to be interesting but there were a few that stood out to me. I found that teamlabs room of light projections and mirrors reminded me of one of my childhood favourite movies which the creator of has been a big part of my inspiration to become an artist and influence on my art.
