Description
Didelphoidea marsupials includes some very large carnivores, such as the saber-tooth marsupial Thylacosmilus, from the Neogene of South America, which reviles any of the saber-tooth cats, from North America; and the bear-like marsupials such as Borhyaena. These animals were the equivalent of the carnivores in South America during millions of years and they extinguished soon after of the great faunal exchange of the Plioceno.
