I'm Kaitlyn. I'm a college student, and a Christian. I am very friendly if you get to know me, but good luck because I'm terribly shy. I have a pretty cool boyfriend who lets me be all artistic and doesn't get frustrated when I refuse to do anything because I'm in the middle of a project. I love music and singing. I also love writing, specifically poetry, but art is my passion, and I guess I'm here to share my ideas and get new ones. Inspiration can never hurt!

Throughout one’s life, there come certain points where it becomes necessary to pause and evaluate current, past and future circumstances. This is one of those times.
She dances on her stage of ice
Forcing her body to be concise;
Fearing that on which she stands
Feeling the life leave her hands;
Awaiting the loss of support and security
Despising her flourishing impurity
Imperfection decaying her skin
Cowering from those monsters within
All the while desiring to end the fight
Cowering from what lurks in the night.
Don’t be afraid, she’s told,
Your frozen stage will surely hold.
Yet comforting words lose their life
While the cold penetrates like a knife
And cuts away her passion
Leaving her broken and ashen.
Squeezing her eyes tightly closed
She does not want to be exposed
Sudden warmth sweeps over
Her body; a protective cover
Falling from grace
She is suddenly looking at his face
And life seems alright
Almost as if she doesn’t have to fight.
This feeling is hard to trust
Easily mistaken for sinful lust
Fearing the inevitable drowning
As the corners of her world begin clouding
And the dark again makes its presence known
This time, she will not condone.
