Description
All lyrics by me. (For the most part, all of my lyrics are either from my cache of prior lyrics and poetry, or I rewrite over the structure from their lyrical helper in a stream-of-consciousness way. This one was the latter)
Software: Suno
Yet another 'cover' of an original Garageband composition - However, it's so drastically different in nearly every way, so as to not even matter.
Meant to invoke both the deterministic elements of how even our conscious choices are compromised and coopted by things like personality and past experience. As well as the chronic acquiescences we all make for the benefits of others - group think, societal expectations, etc. Including the very real consequences of harassment and the like, for not doing so.
[Verse]
Bereft of dreams
In your aphantasiac scene
Belief compounded
Reinforcements, Slowly grounded
Split Seams
In the fabrics of your frazzled mind
Group Think
But unsure of what it means
[Verse]
Completely silent
Like the thawing of a freeze
Empty Compliance
Like the stifling of a sneeze
In the burrows
Delving deeper through the hole
In the shadows
You are only where you go
[Chorus]
Holding back the whispers
Of your weary, wary voice
Deterministic
The illusions of your choice
[Verse]
A willful moulding
But at least you get a treat
A shackled holding
Yet beyond your disbelief
Reactionary
Towards a flooding, of the obscene
Group Think
But Unsure of what it means
[Chorus]
Holding back the whispers
Of your weary, wary voice
Deterministic
The illusions of your choice
[Bridge]
The Pressures are all caving in
Can you feel the weight
Can you demonstrate?
Try and go against the grain
You’ll get doxxed and harassed and exiled,
Shunned
Shamed
[Chorus]
Holding back the whispers
Of your weary, wary voice
Deterministic
The illusions of your choice
[Final refrain]
The Pressures are all caving in
Don't be thinking from the bottom
The Pressures are all caving in

Reminds me of 1941. I think it needs more actual swing, or my sense of timing is off. It sounds rock-steady four-on-the-floor to me. 🤔 It does a great job of conveying the message contained in the lyrics, though. Good job.
