PERSONALITY //

Positive -  Determined, Magnanimous
Negative- fussy,
Neutral-  Introverted, Convoluted, straightforward

Determined -
Whatever he may set his mind to, Jack will try his very best to see it through. It’s also hard to change his mind once he’s decided on something. With his fussiness and convoluted-ness, he very strongly prefers to have things how he likes them.

Magnanimous -
Jack’s biggest virtue is his kind heart. Friend or foe, Jack would be more than willing to lend a helping hand. He holds no grudges and will very easily forgive.

Straightforward -
Jack is a ‘take no bullshit’ kind of guy. He is very candid. Very rarely will a lie ever come from his lips, he wholeheartedly believes that telling the truth is the best thing to do even if it might hurt some feelings. He doesn’t like to mask or sugarcoat stuff.

Introverted -
It would be very unlikely for Jack to be the one to initiate conversation. When it comes to any sort of social situation, Jack’s introvert side really comes out. Jack is fully capable of socializing, but he personally is not too big on it. He doesn’t do too well in party situations. He prefers the company of himself or just a few friends.

Convoluted + Fussy-
Jack is very fussy and nitpicky about things (which is not just limited to what he eats). Things have to be exactly how he wants them arranged and set up in order for him to be happy. To others he can seem chaotic and somewhat scatterbrained. One explain of this is how keeps his home. It’s usually cluttered and things are kept all over the place, never remaining in one spot for long, but yet he always somehow knows where to find everything when he needs it. It’s organized chaos, as he likes to put it.

HISTORY //

CHILDHOOD -
Jack was not born on Seroran soil, no...In Fact, if you’ve ever been to a certain brothel in Aodh land you might notice a certain mare with a coat with striking similarities. Jack’s father, Hayato, was a vagabond thief, and had been selling his wares in one of the cities of Aodh and decided that the brothel would be the place to waist his not so hard earned gold. The young mare Oriana had caught his attention rather quickly, and the night was spent in each others presence.
Over time, Hayato made frequent trips to visit her, becoming familiar with the city and the people of the brothel. His time was always spent with Oriana, who he spoiled with the latest jewels or precious metals he had procured during his travels. It really wasn't a surprise to the others of the brothel when Oriana began to show. Oriana was angry; how could she had let this happen! she was no mother, and would not care for the foal. Hayato was more stunned then anything, shaking his head and denying the truth though it was clear as day to everyone else. Oriana demanded that Hayato continue to support her during her grueling time spent pregnant, for she couldn't work herself.

When Jack was finally born, he was gawky and awkward, more so than most foals. He bore the same coat as his mother, with markings similar to his father. Oriana had no love for him,and pushed the foal onto Hayato, demanding that he take the little imp from her sight and never return to the brothel again.

Hayato knew he would never be a good father, and decided to travel to Serora with the small thing, bringing him to the grand city Osula. Once there, he traveled fast through the busy market, little Jack quickly losing his father.
With his eyes filled with tears and his chest rising and falling quickly, Jack called out for his father, lost and unseen in the market,  His distress falling on deaf ears...all but one pair. Mason, a gatherer of the herd found Jack sitting by himself, tears rolling down his cheeks, and took him home. His mate, Jonna, had been unable to have children for many years, and both of them took finding Jack a blessing from Ayla, and raised him with the love brighter than a thousand suns.

ADOLESCENCE -

Jack flourished as member of Serora. For a good portion of his adolescent years, Jack was tasked with the role of ‘caregiver’, where he helped care for the herd’s young. Although still young, Jack showed a lot of compassion and responsibility, things not often seen in individuals his age. From his role of caregiver stemmed his desire to become a medicine horse. He thoroughly enjoyed helping others, be it treating their wounds or giving them advice on a problem.  He deeply respected how dedicated his adopted parents were for Serora and they were fully supportive of his goals and ambitions. His father, being a gatherer, had a good deal of knowledge on herbs and plants and what they offered, and so he did his best to share the knowledge with Jack. Jack also tagged along with some of the medicine horses and frequently asked them questions.

As a teen, Jack was the ‘awkward unsocial’ type. He didn’t make many friends, but those friends that he did manage to keep were some of the only few who knew him closely. Other males his age liked to ‘rough house’ and have fake fights to show off their strength, particularly to the ladies, but Jack never participated in such games. His parents would jokingly call him a ‘flower child’.

One day in his mid-teens, a small group of boys around his age tried to get Jack to come and join him. Jack was reluctant and told them he’d rather not, but the boys ended up pressuring him into joining. Jack was out of his element, awkward and hesitant and they dragged him along in their games. They played tag and dared each other to do stupid stunts. When Jack refused to do a stunt they dared him to do, one of the boys grew angry and began to push him around. Jack tried to fight back but in doing so he was knocked over and his head was knocked against the ground. The impact caused him to go unconscious and he woke up a few hours later to see his parents picking him up to take him home. They questioned what had happened, and he tried to explain the best he could. After waking up he noticed his hearing was...different, sounds did not seem as loud as they did. Shortly after visiting one of the medicine horses, Jack was told he would be permanently deaf in his right ear.

YOUNG ADULTHOOD -
Jack’s ‘Ceremony of the Rising Wind’ came and went without a hitch. He made no complaints about the fasting and had few problems with being forced to stay awake for the whole day before the ceremony. With a few others young members of the herd, he set out to find a vision or sign of what he should do or become to better aid the herd and himself. During his travels, he thought about his parents and about the goddess Ayla, as well as the other gods. After a few hours of thinking and searching for his symbol, he stumbled upon a long blue feather drifting peacefully in a river. It’s colour reminded him of the drawings he had seen of Ayla and her mighty duel wings, feathers the colour of the sky. Dipping his head down, he plucked the feather from the water, and decided to rest for a moment, examining the feather in greater detail.

After finding the feather, he heard a stranger's voice called his name. When he turned his head he saw the goddess Alya at his side. He had finally found his vision. Jack could only stared wide-eyed as he spoke to him. She told him that he would become a medicine man and that his pure, gentle heart would inspire many and do a lot of good for the herd, and that if he continued to work hard with the same determination and spirit he had currently, someday he might find himself worthy of taking on the role of shaman. And then just as quickly as the vision of Alya appeared, it was gone.

After returning to the herd, Jack told of his vision, and offered the feather to the shaman, asking that he train to be a medicine man; He longed for the opportunity to show how he could help his herd. Within the year, his training began, and Jack was set onto the path of becoming a medicine man.
As he trained, the shaman of the herd took notice to Jack’s vigorous and determined attitude towards his role. Jack showed reverence for the shaman, who was someone that Jack greatly admired. Eventually, he managed to befriend the shaman and a lot of his time was spent soaking up all the knowledge and wisdom that the shaman could offer him. Though happy with his role as a medicine horse, Jack someday hoped that he could be the shaman for the Serora. It was a dream that would certainly take a lot of work to achieve, but he believed that with enough hard work, Alya would once again answer his prayers and bless him with the rank.

Jack was twenty-two when the shaman sadly passed away. It saddened him greatly to see a trusted friend such as the shaman pass away, but he also saw this as an opportunity. When questioned, many of the herd agreed that Jack would be a strong shaman, someone who was young and gifted with an open mind and gentle heart. Jack knew it would be a demanding task, but believed he could help the herd by becoming the next shaman.

Jack slowly  became accustomed to his duties as Shaman, and takes them very seriously. He helps the more serious cases of injured horses, as well as those who need help spiritually, guiding them through their toughest times. He enjoys helping his herd immensely and could picture himself doing nothing greater.

Events of Chapter One//
With the herd starving and dying of thirst, Jack along with several trusty companions headed out into the canyons of Sedo to try and find any form of nourishment. With no end in sight, and the hope of the group slowly diminishing, it wasn't long before they were found by a pack of dogs and attacked. Rather than stay and fight, Jack and his friends made a quick exit, sliding down a rocky cliff face and nearly twisting their necks on the landing. Catching their breath, it wasn't long before the group realised where they had landed; an old meteor landing sight. Looking at their surroundings, they quickly took notice of the thriving plants living in the crevices of the deep crater, tucked away from the harsh light and soaking up water deep from the ground. It may have been only a small find, but anything was better than nothing, especially when it came to the lively hood of the herd.

Events of chapter two//
With the condition of Serora still slowly diminishing, Jack was asked to accompany the Sultan himself to try and find solace for their plight. Along with the small band, Jack followed his Sultan, praying that they would find something worthwhile. What h didn't expect for them to find was a pale hippocampus, seemingly lost out in the desert. It wasn't long before they realised that they weren't lost and rather...were looking for them? Following after the pale horse, Jack was extremely sceptical of the horse; strangers out in the dessert often didn't lead to good things. Bbut what this stranger had to share may have been the only thing to save their herd. An oasis, vast and full of life. Jack couldn't help but think that this tranger may have been a blessing from Alya herself...albiet a very strange one...

Events of chapter three//
H
elping to nurse the sick herd back to full health, the impending news from Aodh did little to settle the hears and worries of those in the oasis. Jack's mind was rampent with thoughts, both on the news Iscah was to bring as well as the horse who had brought them to this palce. Though they had looked like a saviour, Jack began to notice that the pale horse was always sneaking off into the twisting tunnels. It did little to ease Jack's mind. Gathered with his fellow herd members, it wasn't long before they noticed the pale horse sneaking off once more. In the endm it was only Jack and Inathe who decided to follow after the hippocampus into the twisting tunnels. It wasn;t long before the reached where they had been going, another group having followed them in as well. What Jack hadn't expceted to see hidden in the cave was a creature long thought dead. Thinking back on it, Jack was ashamed off his actions, how he had charged in and let his feelings bubble over. Everything seemed to be falling apart around him and Ishmael sneaking off and hidding...an ancient beast did little to qwell his mind. Jack regrets his actions, but knows there is no turning back time. Jack fears that he has lost a great deal of respect from his herdmates.

Current//
With his mind and emotions in termoil, Jack has slowly begun to lose himself. He feels as if he is letting down his herd, especially with the recent death of their wiseman and knows not what to do. Recently, he finally took on an apprectince but he feels that he has failed them as well. How is he supposed to teach someone with such a war raging inside him...as well as one looming in the distance? Jack feelslost to both the world and himself.
