Found stray cat, or she found me.

It's a she, i saw her last week of February on the square behind our house, and i could not place her with any of the households on the square that have cats.

At the 1ste of march saw her in the garden next to the shed and carport eating cat chunks that  were dropped from  a bowl on top of the carport by the the magpies ,  bowl that i fill every morning at 09.00 for the magpie breakfast.

She was hungry and made scared impression when i came close and went under our car, so i went to get some tasty salmon chucks and  made a trial into our garden where i placed a bowl with some fresh salmon chunks, and sat on the porch to see what will be happening.

She came into the garden to eat quickly, and was meowing and purring for more, so the next bowl was on the porch where and sat still with Putty and Tutty observing this strange cat eating (they already had their breakfast).

Next morning she was sitting on one of the chairs on the porch meowing when she saw me, after Putty and Tutty had their breakfast they went upstairs for their morning nap , they had been out during the night till 03.00.

So made some tasty breakfast for the stray cat, and put it on the floor in the kitchen, she hesitated but finally came out of the chair and went in following the smell of the fish, and i closed the rear door softly.

She was bit scared but the hunger prevailed, and the bowl with salmon was finished in no time , and she was asking for more which she got, then she asked to open the rear door and she went to the chair on the porch to take a nap, she stayed there all day . and i gave her 2 other meals during the day.

When Putty and Tutty came down from their morning nap , they went to see her but kept distance ,  there was no objection from both for her being there.

On the 3th in the morning she was still there, so i made 3 breakfasts , served for Putty in the kitchen, Tutty on the dining room table and "Poesie" on the coffee table in the living room, so they could see each other, and i stayed close to Poesie .

Rest of the day they were in the garden, and in the afternoon Putty and Poesie went for a stroll on the Square.

I observed that Poesie is an older cat like our putty (16) since had problems with climbing Fences just like our  Putty.

further that day she used the cat toilet and went sleeping on the couch in the living room.

The afternoon i looked on internet on the site for missing cats but could not find recent posts that looked like her.

Next morning on the 4th asked neighbors if they seen this cat before ,  i took some photo's but had problems uploading them, with further search found that it has to be reported , and that can be done through our local vet .

We were still drained due to the flu (Caro has it even worse then me) so decided that if i feel well enough would go to the Anicura Clinic in Hoofddorp on Friday or Monday morning with Poesie, and we would keep the Poesie indoor.

On Friday morning gave the cats their breakfast at 08.00 and prepared a cat travel case in the living room, at 09.00 i was at the Clinic where the cat was checked , and scanned for a chip.

They found the chip and with this data searched whether it was reported missing, and who the rightful owner was.

They told me that Poesie, was called Nel and had been reported missing more then 4 weeks ago in a other part of Hoofddorp and that she was 14 years old.

The vet would contact the owner that Nel has been found, and should contact me.

Around 11.00 i was called by its owner who was very happy his cat was found, and collected Nel at 12.00.

The owner told me that presumably the tomcat at their house which came later in their family and for Nel was the reason for to leave her home due to the tomcat , worrying prospect for me.

I will take contact with the owner on monday to see if everything is ok with Nel and iff a problem we are happy to take Nel

 in our cat family since here with our cat Putty and visiting cat Tutty from the neighbors  (both Tomcats) there is no problem at all with Nel!
