Prince Imrahil - color

"Amroth! Amroth for Gondor!"

Prince Imrahil of Dol Amroth, only second in majesty to the line of Isildur, descendant of Elves and Númenóreans, proudest, fairest and strongest of all the Gondorian lords, kin to Denethor and his sons through his sister Finduilas, wife of the steward.

The prince rides at the head of a company of knights to the help of Minas Tirith and he is stated as fundamental in defending the capital against the Witch King's horde and in the ensuing victory against Sauron's forces at the Pelennor field. He is the liege of the fabled swan-knights, that so many artists have portrayed in the past.

Here I looked at pictures from modern tournaments, to get the grasp of a horse in full gallop and how the knight sits on the saddle, while couching the lance. The armor has bits of fantasy, including feathered enamelled surface over part of it, but the helmet is almost literally is the one depicted on the funeral bronze effigy of Richard Beauchamp, 13th Earl of Warwick, whose crest was a white swan: a perfect match for Imrahil himself.

There's a bit of a debate about the use of plate armor and whatnot in Tolkien, but certainly Imrahil has a "steel vambrace" which he uses to check if Merry is still breathing after he and Eowyn of Rohan slay the Witch King. So, I can comfortably depict him and his knights as steel-clad men in Gothic harnesses with fantasy elements.

I'd like to thank you for your phenomenal lore accurate artwork of the LOTR, ASOIAF and The Witcher. Amazon, netflix and HBO and hell big tech and Hollywood 8n general seem to be on a post Modernist crusade to turn medieval Europe inspired fantasies into downtown LA and New Delhi with the ridiculous amounts of blackwashing of white characters, and the unrealistic representations of the other groups they love to pander and shill too. Keep doing what your doing and don't let the woke crazies get your artwork
