I'd like to present you my piece of work. This skin was my personal project and after I considered it finished I published it here, so there will be bugs.
This isn't official skin!

As more people are getting Ryzen CPUs it came to my knowledge that MSI Afterburner doesn't natively support CPU temperatures and its just an addition. There is support for Intel, and older AMD. There is no support for Ryzen, but it might come.
If you want temperatures you need to look into hwinfo or other external program. I wanted to use Afterburner for everything, so you don't have to install multiple programs, and Afterburner with RivaTuner is already software that many people use.
Sorry for the inconvenience, I might do an update for Ryzen.

Last update: 01.06.2015.

Planned features (don't know if I'll be able to do them):
– Automatic update skin popup (not that awful "update" skin)
– More app launcher options
– Laptop battery skin

If you have any feature request, please ask!

Features so far:
– Music player control
– Master volume control
– Basic system information
– Advanced CPU and GPU information
– Basic network and ping information
– Easy edits
– App launcher

Please share your opinions!

Troubleshooting:
My GPU related skins don't work.

There are 3 main causes for this:
1. MSI Afterburner plugin didn't install properly
2. You are running SLI / iGPU
3. You've turned off graphs in Afterburner

How to check which issue you have:
1. Go to rainmeter.exe and press "Open log" button on the bottom. If there is an error with message "Plugin: Unable to load "MSIAfterburner.dll" (error 126)" then go to solution 1.
2. Open Afterburner and check the label names of the GPU graphs. If your labels say "GPU1 usage" instead of "GPU usage" then you have iGPU running and rainmeter doesn't know which GPU stats to show. Go to solution 2.
3. In Afterburner go to settings->monitoring. In "Active hardware monitoring graphs" section check whether you have your GPU related graphs turned on, if not just click on the tick symbol and refresh all skins.

Solutions
1. Go to your rainmeter skins folder (usually in rainmeter install location) and go to "Illustro_Extended\resources\Plugins" and open the folder with your rainmeter bit version, copy the MSIAfterburner.dll and paste it into "%appdata%\Rainmeter\Plugins" and paste it there, after that refresh all skins.

2. This will take about 5 minutes to fix. This skin doesn't support SLI at the moment so you need to pick 1 GPU to track stats of. Go to Afterburner and check how it labeled your GPUs (GPU1 and GPU2) and decide which one you'd like to track. Edit all skins containing GPU info (GPU, Temperatures, Usage history) by right clicking on skin and pressing "Edit skin". Search for "DataSource=" and change all entries related to GPU ("Fan speed" changes to "GPU1 fan speed" and "Memory usage" changes to "GPU1 memory usage") by adding GPU number at the end, so "GPU usage" changes to "GPU1 usage". Everything is case sensitive, you can check Afterburner graphs for datasource labels.

Changelog:
2.2 - 01.06.15
Autohiding of track name skin
Fixed drive options

2.1 - 13.09.14.
Overhaul of options menu
Added app launcher
Added usage history

hey just found your skin here and its pretty cool, but do you think it would be possible to make a watt usage panel for the skin as well ? [i like to overclock my stuff but my psu can only handle 500w]

excellent work!! thanks for adding troubleshooting steps. I had to add GPU1 in the datasource. youre the best!

Hello, İ have been using this skin for a long time. Ping skin is maybe best skin for gamers and maybe of a kind, i like it. I even edited it a little to see last 3 minutes and changed its ping server to one web site from my country ^^ . I edited volume skin to use mouse scroll to volume up-down. Have a nice day, take care ^^ .

could you add an option to display disk space?

HI.  Thank you for this amazing work.  Unfortunately I am a noob.  I have been using Rainmeter for quite sometime but only install the skins that come in the rmskin format.  This unfortunately I have no clue.  I tried installing to the skins folder but there are other folders and some .ini files.  I tried to research on the web but I can't seem to get it to work.  Thank you for any help you can extend.

Great skin! But im having trouble with cpu temp. Got i5 2500k and have msi afterburner aswel as hwinfo installed. Both read cpu temp correctly but somehow its not working in RM, any ideas?

Edit: Currently it is set as msi afterburner it seems

Plugin=MSIAfterburner.dll

How can I try to monitor with hwinfo?

Thank you for your reply Oxmnaster. I already downloaded Core temp to keep an eye on the CPU temp for now. I find it a bit more compact.

Very nice and tidy and does everything I need. On my old Intel system everything was fin but I've upgraded to a new system with ADM Ryzen 1700x and the CPU temps wont register. Usage is ok but it wont tell me the temp of anything on the chip. Any idea's please.
Oxmaster's avatar
It's because MSI afterburner doesn't support Ryzen temperatures, if you need temps you might need to look into hwinfo integration

thanlk you very much ill try that out.

Of course it's good, but too much here is certainly superfluous.

what? You mean that actual data that is useful is useless? Would you like to see your hard drive capacity or your IP address all the time? You can clearly see what is happening with the system without any clutter or spinning discs and you have full control over the looks.

Great!  Love it.  Spent a long time looking for something simple and this hit the nail on the head.  Care to take a crack at a weather applet in the same style?

"Soon ™" I might do an update fixing some bugs, some grammar and adding some features. But I can't promise anything .

No worries, thumbs up from me.

Excellent, just what I was looking to check my cpu, gpu and network

Came across this after an exhaustive search for a decent, minimalist hardware monitor skin.. couldn't have found a better one that works pretty much out of the gate. Any advice for overclockers? CPU clockspeed shows 3.4 (default) clock but I'm overclocked to 4.4GHz. I don't think it matters and I know it's just polling from the task manager, but, was just curious if you had any thoughts on a work-around aside from just overriding with text. Great skin!

The only proper skin that actually shows my core i5 temp properly. ty

Slight spelling error on the DriveAccess folder just so you know.

Total newbie so please be kind to me...

First, thanks for this great skin! Just my cup of tea!

Until today I've been using CoreTemp and Core Temp Gadget 2.7 for keeping an eye on CPU, RAM and TEMP.
***.alcpu.com/CoreTemp/
And GPU Observer Gadget for my NVIDIA SLI graphic cards.
orbmu2k.de/
All worked very well until yesterday...

Updated Windows 7 today (29 updates) and can't for the life of me get gadgets to work again!
Did a ghost restore and all gadget was well, updated Win7 again and gadgets totally gone!!!
No way to get them back!
Gadgets been sitting on my desktop so nicely until today.
I know gadgets is no longer supported bu MS (security issues) but I have managed to get it to work so far.
If being careful with what gadgets you download it's all safe.

So time to move on and I found Rainmeter which looks great and it will probably fill my need.
Can't figure out though how it works with CoreTemp plugin?
Tried to read up on manuals and forums and skins but I'm lost...
CoreTemp is autostaring on my system but it wont show up in Rainmeter.
Any hints and tips on this would be highly apprecitaded.

Found Illustro Extended 2.1 and got some of it to work.
I'ts exactly what I'm looking for, clean and esthetical, I like it a lot! :D
Is it possible to edit in some way so the right OC CPU Clock Speed is shown?
Also I'm not able to get the GPU to show anything, just zero %.
I have two NVIDIA GPU cards running in SLI so it would be great if I could monitor both.
Have installed MSI Afterburner 4.11 and it's autostarting and SLI cards show up just fine in there.
Have no clue if there is something I must do in Rainmeter?
Using Rainmeter-3.3-r2468-beta and it's autostarting.

Hints, tips, maybe other clean and not so bulky skins, any info is highly apprecited!
I'm exhausted and lost with fiddling with this for hours and hours...

Best regards,

redorbroder

Great skin, but i couldnt find multi gpu instructions, so data sources will have to be changed for that.
