Description
Guess what weeee got to design for character design class! (and then, since it's film season, no one showed up)
It's sort of cheating to use designs I was already pretty solid on, so I used this opportunity to think up a bunch of graphic looks . . . . AND ways to present it to a fairly conservative teacher who was looking for contrast in appearance over anything else.
Hence I may have to warn Jekyll and Hyde fans that this is a rather exaggerated version of Hyde. 8| Since the usual image of Hyde is really hulking and huge and powerful, I was working to "sell" Hyde as a small, skinny character that somehow has just as much impact. The contrast is not line-shaped-figure (Jekyll) to circle-shaped figure (Hyde)--it's smooth curves to scruffy scribbles and jagged lines.
I keep rethinking what kind of addiction Hyde's formula is akin to. I really don't like "updating" the story by having Jekyll inject himself with the formula. The charming inaccuracy of drinking it sells it as a cultural icon, a good ol' scientific romance, and also suggests alcohol as its closest relation. Hence: Hyde is not some supernatural evil brought about with Evil Technology but a result of everyday vice that anyone can relate to.

The picture of Hyde with the umbrella reminds me of the Babadook 😅 But very nice overall!
