Beautiful! This reminds me a bit of some of Edward Hooper's paintings, because of the isolated melancholy feeling. Well done.

Reading the strange comments that some people come out with is sometimes entertaining, sometimes just painful.

She's beautiful.

I actually favoured this, there is so much for people to interpret and the fact that this was a mere error or accident just makes my mind rush! It's like this whole shot is moot(though I'd rather have used the word mot ;D) of ones artistic opinions. I genuinely love it.

Great piece of work. I love the look of the film and also that you didn't retouch her skin at her breasts. I like that natural look and the courage of the model to show that imperfect part of her body. Also the fact that the focus is exactly on that part of the body adds to the overall impression.

Its interesting. the sharpness is in the center of the image but I don't think any of the blurry or sharp areas detract from the photo. If looked at with artists eyes, one can see things of interest. For example, the focus seems to be on her breasts (the sharpest but also the most 'imperfect' area of the model ) and the lamp is the second in focus. My eye is drawn to the breast first and the lamp second... Hierarchy and and structure in play. Shape and size also help in this composition. I think people are focusing too much on particular body parts AS BODY PARTS. Going past that and looking into composition, lighting , color and so forth, I think the image takes what was unintentional photography happenings and translated them into art, nonetheless. I think the image is still beautiful due to mood, tone, composition, model expression, color and such. I say good job. =D

The harsh shadow in the lower right corner bothers me a little.
I just dont like some shadows.

BUT< I think the overall composition works well. her gaze is opposite of the heavy corner so it might balance the weight a little and her dark hair. One light casting on the background woulda helped

i think the focus works perfectly here also, lovely image

i agree with clay... sometimes through "accidents" we create things we wouldn't have intended or even considered. the focus is on the lamp/table and her torso. her face is blurred, allowing her a sense of anonymity... making the photo focus more on the contrast between the shape of her body and the shape of the lamp (which may have been part of your original intent).

also agree that the colors and the negative space work very well here. another job well done!

As already said, sometimes some luck is happening in shots and it gives this great "accident".

Impov, I like the blurr all around the center ... I see (everyone is seeing a story behind an image while viewing ) a girl uncomfortable with her nudity and the blur express the sprit trying to escape this moment !! As if she 's trying so hard to not be there on the picture that it makes the image blurry !!

By the way , good shot , love the colors (god save the Kodak Portra !!) and the composition with that huge negative space.

I dunno. I kind of like the blurriness in her face.. sometimes an accident can be a blessing hey.

lovely model , but photo is lil bit unfocused :camera:

I don't see why the model's face has to be this blurry.
I mean most of the picture is almost uncomfortably sharp,
so why?
she has much prettier face, than crotch
OsmynOree Featured By Owner Sep 9, 2010  Professional Photographer
its not focused on her crotch AND it was an accident but i thought that the photo still worked as a whole, not all of the photo is sharp, the line of sharpness cuts through the photo because i moved my camera a certain way which was unintentional
