Description
The skull of Leaellynasaura amicagraphica based on the holotype specimen NMV P185991 (maxilla-jugal-quadrate), and NMV P185990 (skull roof). These specimens, along with a partial postcranial skeleton (NMV P185992 and NMV P185993) are thought to belong to the same individual (Rich et al 2010). Shaded areas indicate preserved bone, diagonal lines indicate broken bone, stippling indicates matrix, and blank areas indicate reconstruction based on similar taxa. Scale bar is 5.0 cm. Leaellynasaura was pretty tiny, and also had a pretty long narrow snout, quite unlike the Hypsilophodon-clone head it's often pictured with.
