Longhorn Beetle Portrait by orionmystery Longhorn Beetle Portrait by orionmystery
A largish, male Longhorn beetle (Massicus pascoei - ID confirmed by Francesco Vitali).  It found a female and was mating with her when we came back a few hours later . Selangor, Malaysia.

Some wonderful beetles of Malaysia: orionmystery.blogspot.com/2010…

Amg when I was just randomly clicking, this came up and I'm like "WAA. WHAT IS THAT?". Needless to say, I was quite uhm... intimidated by it. I'm also curious about insects having hair. The look like werewolves, but they're insects.
That is some insane clarity.

I know. Those are super visible and they irritate the eyes, skin and the lungs. But like usually I don't see hairs on any insects (like ants). So yea. It was pretty freaky xD
