My Bio
We are a fantasy costume studio run by a husband and wife team. Our armor is sculpted from a unique amalgam of latex, textiles and other materials. This makes it lightweight, flexible, durable and most importantly, comfortable. We sell our work online and at a growing number of festivals and cons around the country. We love creating custom pieces for creative people.

Hello friends,We are in our new studio now and it's a dream come true. So clean, warm and organized! We've had a steady flow of custom projects coming through. the latest is this set of Zelda pauldrons. We're working on some dog armor, some large horns, a claw, a belly dance set based on the Species character, and some accessories for the goddess Kali. Quite a range! We just listed a bunch of faun horns, Hathor horns, cuffs and other goodies in our online shop. We're clearing out the 2012 inventory to make room for the new season of lovely gear.Everything is on sale through March 15th, 10 to 25% off. Check it out: http://organicarmor.com/s...

Dear participants in life's masquerade,We have finished up all the summer festivities and the Halloween craziness. What a wonderful ride! Now we are shifting gears to focus on three big internal changes.First thing is a top to bottom remodel of our studio. We are based in a hundred year old factory building on the edge of Asheville, between the river and the railroad tracks. It's a great place, filled with artists and good energy but it's got some practical challenges, namely a lack of temperature control. It's freezing cold in the winter (we're talking paint brushes frozen solid in their water cups), and hot as blazes in the summer. It's ...

Hi! I was just glancing through your site to see what had changed since I last looked at it, since I was linking it to someone who asked where I'd gotten a certain piece of headgear I wear daily... a hat I commissioned from you fine folks about... I want to say 3 years ago? Maybe 4? It's the Alchemical Cowboy Hat. I wear it every day to work and almost every customer who walks in complements it. I now keep a little stack of bits of paper with your website address written on them tucked away behind the register because SO many people want to know where I got it. ;)

Anyway, I saw that you had a photograph of it on your site! That's pretty cool, it's a better photo than any I've managed to get of it, but what struck me as something fascinatingly coincidental enough to be worth noting here is that the woman modeling it... despite having most of her face hidden below the brim... otherwise looks EXACTLY like my mother did 28 years, 363 days, 4 hours, and 36 minutes ago when she obligingly gave me entry into this world. Perhaps it would be different if you could see more of her face, but the way she's photographed, the resemblance is UNCANNY.

Also, as a testament to the quality of your work, this hat is still in pretty much the same condition it was in when I got it in the mail. The inner lining is a bit stained from wear, obviously, and a little of the rubbery stuff you make these with has worn down where the interior of the hat touches my head, but otherwise the damn thing's proven to be as indestructibly ageless as any piece of clothing or jewelry I've ever owned and worn on such a constant basis.
Dear Vengethian,
Thank you for taking the time to share that story. Wow! I remember the hat and the photo. That was me wearing it (Jennifer).
We have the best customers in the world!
