Great article; I went through this same thing being told there were various things I "could not do" because I shoot with a P/S-Superzoom instead of a DSLR.
I "can't" get a decent DOF effect, forget about a decent bokeh, may as well forget about filters or different lenses or low-light shooting or taking any really "decent quality" shots.
Most of these myths came from "professionals" or "wannabe professionals" and they proved to be either "passed on from generation to generation" or just assumptions made due to them not

see...if everyone had a llama, then it would not be as valuable, so people would focus on each other instead of getting points or llamas or money...but people WANT things, so they try to make deals and they try to ask and some try to give as long as they will get...so in a world of selfishness I am TRYING to act like my Creator taught me...to give freely...and I know I will be taken care of! :-) I figure we are given an endless supply of llamas, and are allowed to give one to each person...if I was given an endless supply of dollars...I would happily give on to every person I met, and probably send them to people I hadn't met...but then I w

I just read a USA Today article about the necessity of protecting ideas with Patents because of how many people make a good idea and then have it stolen by someone who has more money for marketing... I don't know about other countries but I just copyrighted one of my works that I don't want to end up in movies and games and on t-shirts without me getting paid for it...in the U.S. you can copyright your art online through the Library of Congress for only $35!!! I am extremely impressed! I had no idea they were dolls at first, and was impressed with the beauty and photography of the models. The fact they turned out to be dolls made it all the more impressive! I hope to someday be that good with my camera and Photoshop!
