The Burden of Helegnir

After Helchorion's demise, and the little heed that Caradol gave to the affairs of his own clan, more and more of those burdens came to rest upon Helegnir, the eldest daughter of Helchorion, who had survived the battle against the Ancient Horror in the depths of Zarakh-Kalmethrok.

Helegnir was sorely wounded in that struggle; she lost an eye and was left scarred. Her hair turned white as snow, yet nothing was diminished from the iron of her will.

In her youth in Eregion she had mastered the bow; but in her later years she grew greatly fond of the Dwarven battle-axes. It is told of her that she became a formidable warrior, and that a single deep stroke of the enchanted axe she received from the smiths of Garzagrund could bring down a troll.
