Setting boundaries is one thing. Sticking to them is another. And kids are still learning, so they're gonna poke at boundaries. Not out of spite or malice, they're just curious and trying to figure out what they are and how they work, hence why you have to push back (gently) so they know not to cross the line. Otherwise, they'll never learn.
