Official Name: City of London
Human Name: Mary Rose Kirkland (She is named after Mary the First, the first queen of England. London has, for the past thousand years, been the home of the English royal family.)
Age Appearance: 25 (London, as a city, is older than England itself. It was originally called, 'Londinium', and was founded by the Romans)
Actual Age: Nearing 2000. She was founded in 50 AD
Appearance: London is tall, and has long blonde hair, pulled back into a thick, high ponytail. A tiny gold crown-shaped pin adorns the top of her head (This is to represent Buckingham Palace, and the royal family). Her eyes are a cloudy blue (A similar colour to the river Thames). She wears a long-sleeved, white blouse, with a high collar, and long sleeves. She has a pocket on the left side of her chest, inside which is a pocket watch, with a clock face similar to the one on Big Ben. She also wears a long black pencil skirt, with black tights underneath, and black office heels. She carries a black satchel, with a silver clip, which bears strong resemblance to the logo of the London Underground.
Personality: London is a proud, if a little haughty city, who does her best to act like a lady at all times. Well-dressed, polite, and proper, she carries an immense amount of responsibility, being England's capital city, and she sometimes struggles to juggle her responsibilities, but she'll never say it out loud, as she doesn't want to come across as weak or whiny. Between dealing with England's internal affairs, entertaining the many tourists who visit her, keeping her underground railway system in working order, and speaking to the many cities she has links with, London always seems to have her hands full, but never does she complain. "As the capital city of England, it is my duty to be a city that England can be proud of," she says.
However, much like the country she belongs to, she also has a love of punk rock, and when she has the time, she likes to go to gigs for her favourite bands. She insists that liking punk rock doesn't make her any less of a lady, if anyone asks. When she is especially upset, drunk, or tired, she has a habit of going into a cockney accent.
Favourite foods: Jellied eels, pie and mash, steamed cockles, (A variety of clam which can be bought in bulk at London's markets), knickerbocker glory, and trifle.
Pets: She owns a corgi, named Titus (Yes, he's named after one of Queen Elizabeth's corgis).
Hobbies: Going for walks around her city with her corgi, visiting record shops (She can never have too much memorabilia of her favourite bands), shopping, especially for her favourite blends of tea, and new preserves to try with her afternoon tea scones, going to gigs, gardening (She especially enjoys tending to the flowers of Hyde Park), and watching plays and musicals.
Fears: Fire (Especially after the Great Fire of London)
England: As his capital city, London is his closest confidante, who manages most of his internal affairs. He considers her the crowning jewel of his country, as she is home to many popular tourist attractions, spectacular views, and the prime minister and royal family. Occasionally, she attends world meetings with him, but only if there's an issue concerning her in particular, that the other countries and/or cities need to get involved with. He admires her dedication to him, and they have a very close relationship, almost like mother and son.
Germany: London holds an enormous grudge against him, primarily because of the London bombings. He killed a lot of her people, and forced many more to send their children away as evacuees, as well as destroying a lot of her land. She is on neutral terms with him nowadays, however, but she will never, ever forgive him for the London bombings.
Winchester: He and London have a bit of a petty rivalry, because Winchester used to be the capital of England, but after the royal family began living in London, Winchester's title was taken away, and given to her instead.
Dublin, Beijing, Edinburgh, Madrid, Washington D.C (London is officially linked with over fifty cities, but I'm too lazy to list them all...): London has diplomatic links with several other cities around the world. However, these links are, most of the time, strictly professional. She does business with them, but that is it.
