because the group isn't that big till now, submissions here are generally accepted. but please keep a certain level of quality!

however, submissions to featured need to be approved.

I use a cintiq 12wx, and i have this recent problem - my paints show off a lil bit to the left of my cursor when using my pen tablet, but when using my mouse the paint actually shows off at the center. have you guys experienced this?

I'm going to run the first ever art contest for Surreal Grotesque. I have people working on the covers for the August and September issues but for October, our Halloween Issue, I want someone to design the cover.

I want something truly unique and bizarre, disturbing and strange. Try to think outside of the box. No jack o' lantern images, no witches, no black cats but a truly unique image of what you think of when you think of Halloween but in an abstract way. There will be a small cash prize, 30 dollars, a weirdass prize package full of goodies I will mail to the winner and you will even get to be murdered by me in a flash fiction story in a really horrible and brutal way. ;)

Runners up will still get their work featured in the mag as part of a special Halloween gallery and everyone who enters gets to link their webpage to our "Artists We Love" section of the magazine. Is that a good incentive? So enter if you are interested or spread the word about the contest to other artists. I would love to have as many entries as possible. Halloween is one of my favorite holidays and I think this magazine sort of lends itself to that theme.

Again, the site is as always and all entries can be sent to under HALLOWEEN CONTEST. I am accepting entries from now until august 31st for the Oct. issue. Rules: No multiple entries, no character copyrighted images, the words SURREAL GROTESQUE ISSUE 6 must be incorporated into the top of the image or room left on top for me to enter the title of the mag onto the image without overshadowing it. Thank you and like this if you think this is a good idea for a contest.

even though this group isn't very active, the few art pieces here are amazing! they're so inspiring that if i wasn't sick, i would be drawing away in open canvas right now. none of my open canvas pieces are as good as the ones here, so not sure if i'll submit anything yet. but definitely joining.

hm this group is really lacking in activity

Indeed, it's rather quiet lately. Most of us are occupied with life, but we'll find time as it allows... :)

Any of you use the intuos4 on opencanvas 1.1? my cursor is in one area and the actual line is about 3 inches to the left. Was wondering if this is common with the new tablet.

I have used the Intuos4 with oC 1.1, although I don't recall having the same issues. Did you check the mapping settings in the configuration panel, and ensure that if you have an openCanvas application-specific mapping, that it is correctly set to the entire screen?
Artistic-dribbles Featured By Owner Jun 9, 2010
I checked that and its set for the whole screen and use of the whole tablet. I can click on buttons and menus just fine.. its just when I actually draw that its way off.. it makes NO sense..

Thanks though.
