paw print tattoo by oomizuao paw print tattoo by oomizuao
my new tattoo! :la:

I got it yesterday :) it was tattooed by :icongettattoo: , and he did a great job! It's Noah's pawprint (Noah was my previous dog. There are photos of her in my gallery. She's the black French Bulldog <3 ). It's the actual size if her front paw (the right one I think) and it was meant to look a bit tattered. The tattoo artist did a great job, and I couldn't be happier with this
It's probably not a very exciting tattoo, but it means a whole lot to me. And it is a memorial tattoo of Noah, at the same time as it's supposed to symbolize all my dogs. Previous, current and future dogs I've owned.
So instead of tattooing one portrait of each dog, I have this to symbolize them all :)

I like that tatoo, it's really cool, and it fits what you mostly do (as far as i'm concerned, which is drawing anthro characters, which i think is really cool as well) ^_^

It's beautiful. (: Three years ago, I got my cat's paw prints on my left shoulder. I've gotten shit for it, too, but I don't care; it was my first tattoo and it means more to me than anyone can ever know. She is my best friend - she was there for me through school, Hurricane Katrina, family problems, and my depression. Fuck the haters. As long as it means something to you, that's all that matters!
oomizuao Featured By Owner Apr 10, 2012
Thank you for that :thanks: My paw print tattoo means incredibly much to me, too, and I can totally understand why you chose to tattoo your cat's paw prints on you. I think that people won't be able to relate if they haven't loved a pet as much as we have. :aww:
And I don't care what negative things people say about my tattoo, either. It's like you said; as long as it means something to me, that's all that matters :) And I love my tattoo for what it means to me.

thank you so much for your lovely comment!

I can't believe some of the people that are being so critical about this. For one thing, you're a grown woman and it's your body.
Obviously this meant enough to you to get it done in the first place and people need to respect that.
I think it took guts to get it where you did, kudos.
Personally, I adore it. it feels new, spontaneous and fresh. You should be proud of it! and I also love how it symbolizes all your characters. You do good work, keep it up!

P.S. thank you for adding the tattoo artist. hes awesome!

A lot of people are being really negative about this.

I disappoint.

I think it's a wonderful Idea. I would even get one of these myself. I probably will, but I won't steal your idea.

Also, I doubt an eleven year-old could have that much common sense, and wonderful art directories.

Ily btw. <3

I love the emotional concept with your idea.

I'm sorry you're actually getting trouble about this...
It's not as though it's on your face; where it is actually seems more symbolic than anywhere else ^^
It's also not as though it's a picture of Spongebob picking his nose or something...

I do understand the views of others... but those who are digging deep simply to agitate and make you feel horrid about your decision...
are just being silly and making themselves look like an idiot. *ahem *
What's done is done, and this tattoo is actually really sweet.. ^^
If you don't see yourself working anywhere that won't accept it, then there's really no issue.
...I wrote too much ^^'

I love it! Personally, I'm too much of a wimp to ever get a tattoo, but I love this one! It's cute and fun, but also has a really deep meaning behind it! I think tattoos are pretty, actually, and I love learning the meanings behind the tattoos people get!

Point of post: I love it so much! 8D

Looking through the comments, you've got enough people thinking you made a bad decision, so I'll keep my thoughts to myself. Good luck with that thing.
YoshiHikikomori Featured By Owner Jan 23, 2012
Shoulda taken it on like the lower part of the back of your neck, or your shoulders or something, somewhere where you know it's there and you carry it with you without having it on a spot that's gonna be in sight about 90% of the time. It's good if it means something to you but I agree with what the person below me said. I could imagine myself regretting it, getting it on such a place. Anyways as long as you are happy with it.
IronPlushy Featured By Owner Jan 23, 2012
Tattoo's like these, as well as on your neck, hands and face are called career killers in the industry. They call them that because when a hiring manager can easily see your tattoo during an interview, there's a very good chance you won't get hired. Also, tattoos this close to the wrist prohibit you from joining certain branches of the military.

Congratulations on making a terrible decision that will inhibit you the rest of your life. I also have tattoos but they're easily concealable with a button-down.
oomizuao Featured By Owner Jan 24, 2012 what kind of jobs did you picture me getting? o__O
I'm not gonna join the army, or work at a place where they wear their finest suits, or any other boring jobs. No, I'm proud of my tattoos, I'll probably get more of them, and if people don't accept me for who I am or think negative things about me for having a tattoo, then why should I work for or hang out with such people?
Besides, in the modern world we live in, tattoos are so common, that I doubt there are many jobs left where you're banned if you have a visible tattoo. Here in Norway, the army couldn't care less if you have a tattoo. And I've yet to find a place where the employees are tattoo-free.

I'm very happy with my decision, thank you very much.
And if I should ever feel the need to conceal it, there's always wrist bands and sweaters.
Still, as I said, I'm proud of my tattoos, so I don't see the need to hide them from the world or hide them to get some boring kind of job.

IronPlushy Featured By Owner Jan 24, 2012
Well ok, in America you don't get to choose what job you want. And what are you 11? You think you're going to have a "fun" job? You are going to be very disappointed.
oomizuao Featured By Owner Jan 24, 2012
Huh.. well, here in Norway you DO get to choose what job you want  you might not always get the job, but you can at least apply for just about any kind of job you want.
And I'm 22, I have a fun job, I currently work at a pet store, and my colleagues are fantastic (and they have even more tattoos that I do). I love it there. And, I work as a freelance comic artist for a comic magazine - I think that's a pretty cool job. Plus, I've just applied for a job as an apprentice at a Tattoo store (I've just gotta wait and see whether I'll get that job or not).
So, nope; not disappointed. I'm pretty pleased with my current jobs. :)
IronPlushy Featured By Owner Jan 24, 2012
There's a difference between a job and a hobby. 90% of comic artists do not make a living with their art. And submitting an application does not count as a job. And working for minimum wage at a pet store is not a real job, if a 15 year old does it over the summer it doesn't count as a real job.
oomizuao Featured By Owner Jan 24, 2012
Well, at least I'm happy with my job.
I see no reason to argue about this. And obviously, you're just trying to agitate me. I got two words for you, pal: not working.
IronPlushy Featured By Owner Jan 24, 2012
Which is what you'll be doing in about a year.
AGhostDreamCG Featured By Owner Jan 23, 2012  Student General Artist
I'd have to agree with you there. My most visible tattoo is on my upper forearm, but is still concealable. My others are on my thigh and feet..
I wouldn't get a giant paw print on my wrist. But whatever, we all chose what we do.
