My Bio

Note: My gallery is sorted by color - not by subject (+ a single stock-folder). :+fav:

Artistically: When I was 13, I got a 4,1 megapixel digital camera, and I quickly started to photograph absolutely everything. The tree in the backyard, the snails on the wet rocks, the rhododendron. Clouds. My friends. Back then, I used photography to document my life, no matter how trivial. After high school I bought a DSLR (most of my pictures on deviantART were taken using this basic Canon 550D), and then I really started to shoot photos to express myself artistically. I started to edit my photos. I started to think about depth of field, lighting and angles. I've upgraded my gateway cameras to one with a bit more power, but really, gear is not even the most important part. Art is an explosion. Photos are little time machines, and through them I can relive these moments. That is why I love it, and that is why I will keep on.

Professionally: I am an agrobiologist by profession, currently working as a research assistant at a university. I work with the welfare of poultry.

Personally: I am a really sweet, semi-awkward, hard working person, and you can always come to me for anything.

Oliver: Oliver is the ginger tabby often featured on my photos. He is 6 years old. He likes being outside, catching mice and birds, exploring... He likes belly rubs, and he is really easy-going and patient.

August Update

Art I have tried following the "dragon tutorial", and even though it did not turn out a masterpiece, it was quite fun. I have ordered a figure drawing book as well, so it will be about a month before it shows up in the mail. Thank you for sticking around even though I know you are here for cat pictures. I will award the little gem badges to my loyal followers once in a while. Regarding photography, I think I will try to utilize my car more. See if I can get some places to shoot, as it is a bit boring here. Also, did you see the new Canon R3? I just need that camera in my life. Those features - just straight up cheating at this point. I did not delete all my favourites before I went on "hiatus" from Deviantart, so I am not sorting them into their rightful categories in my fav-section, and I am also deleting the deviations that do not quite fall into my taste anymore. I must say, some of these deviations are quite... deviant. I think my tastes have changed a bit. Some of them are

I am no longer a student, and I have been very lucky to get a temporary position at the University as a research assistant. Therefore I am not as limited financially as I was in the past. I have taken full advantage of this, and I just bought a drawing tablet. Ever since I made my first DeviantArt account in my early teens (not this one), it has been a dream of mine to dabble in drawing. I did not have the money, nor did I have the drive to pursue it, but now I do. Photography will always be my main endeavour, but you can look forward to things like this: Tadaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa ~~ I did this in Photoshop on the PC, with my mouse, in 5 minutes. This serves as the base, and when I get my tablet, I will see the difference it makes! When I had made this, my immediate thought was "Okay, my skill clearly is advanced enough for this upgrade", so there was no discussion. In my photography journey, I have been obsessed ~ OBSESSED ~ with perfection. I kept re-editing my photos, re-uploading,
