Description
Three Subspecies of Gnome
From Left to Right
Field Gnome
The most nimble of gnomish types, the Field Gnome is considered not much more than a pest.
The smallest of gnome types, this twitchy, fast moving Gnome is oftentimes a thief or a rogue.
Due to their small size they are not particularly effective at combat, most times it would take a pack of them to bring down a human warrior
Hedge Gnome
The most recognizable and common Gnome Type, the Hedge Gnome is also the most numerous.
These Gnomes straddle the line between acknowledgement of their humanity and pest status.
They are more intelligent than the field gnome, and if they had a semblance of sanity they'd have intelligence to shame Men and halfling.
This type of Gnome is most likely to possess magical affinity, this combined with their high mobility and chaotic but quick thinking makes them a potential threat, especially in large numbers.
Luckily the machinations of gnomish cults are usually thwarted by the hedge giants but that doesn't dissuade them from trying again.
Garden Gnome
Garden Gnomes are the most likely Gnome to live amongst the human population of Westwall.
Often forming symbiotic relationships with humans, where they live under the protection of an estate and tend the gardens.
The largest of Gnome types, but still not even the height of a halfling, Garden Gnomes, sometimes called Hearth Gnomes, have a comparably calm temperament.
They are superior craftsman to the other gnome types, with at least one particularly portly garden gnome crafting toys to peddle to the children of westwall.
Though few Gnomes ever become independently successful, they nonetheless command the most respect of other gnome types, and are almost never considered a pest and always a benefit.
Don't count them as soft though, like all gnomes they still have superior senses and reflexes even if less than their lighter cousins.
Besides that their heavier weight and more robust frames make them closer to lightfoot halflings in physical prowess.
They guard their estates quite well, being an early alert system and using spears or garden tools to inflict damage on would be thieves and raiders.
They are also quite good with poisons, and work well alongside animals and even Giants.
