Cliodhna By The Sea

I was really happy to do this one - a rare collaboration between myself and my awesome sister.

We were aiming to include the central defining imagery of the Cliodhna myths (the sea, the Irish coast, the apple, the birds, and of course the goddess herself), and to convey the sense of approaching doom. Cliodhna is characteristic of many mythical figures, in that she embodies both light and dark motifs, with her tales centering around beauty and life as well as darkness, death, and the removal of magic from the mortal world.

Line art by me, watercolors by Kate Cragoe.

Woah, amazing work! Something out of a beautifully illustrated ancient fairytale book, you and your sister should certainly collaborate more often- I would certainly buy a book full of amazing pictures like this.
