(C418 - Aria Math)

A long time ago there existed beings that visited this planet who were from another world, and who had the power to materialize and shapeshift. After some time having discovered this planet, these beings felt the need to experience physical bodies, and so they transformed themselves into various animals of the Earth. They had not previously known this experience and became overwhelmed with the experience of sensation and pleasure, they had fun with it. They lived among the ancient humans.

After thousands of years, many of these supernatural beings became incapable of returning to their immaterial form.
Some did not want to return. They were trapped in their bodies and their power over physical matter disappeared. They were considered "the fallen", because they had left their graceful place in the heavens.
They lived among humans and the native animals still, but they were the monsters and hybrids of legends told by older civilizations.
The fallen mostly lost themselves to animality, some raged and tormented the creatures of Earth, others were lost in sexual indulgence, but even upon the death of their physical bodies they could not return to their original world.

Ancient humans nevertheless made progress during that time, one civilization especially had advanced more than the rest.
The ways of the "the fallen" were copied near the end of that advanced civilization, as it fell to decadence and war, then was washed under the sea. Though that civilization is a relic of history, there were survivors and keepers of the lore of its greatness. Some of the fallen also survived. A known figure of "the fallen" is worshiped in what we know of as occultism, where the glory, the knowledge, the wisdom of the past had survived as well. The story of this cataclysmic disaster that destroyed humanity's once greatest civilization has been retold in distorted ways and in fragments by various sources, including religious writings.

Aria's lineage was used in the retelling, because her lineage is connected to one of the fallen that had not become animalistic: the "Ljosalfar", or light elves. The light elves were peaceful, innocent, and preserved their supernatural abilities throughout their existence. Aria's surname is one of the oldest names given to the light elves, the Ljosalfar.
This word was distorted and placed on one of the corrupt fallen, and the name became "Lucifer", to describe one of the fallen, one of the hybrids, one of them that was worshiped. Bits of ancient understanding and magic were attributed to this figure who was represented as a human with goat features, a hybrid of the fallen.

But those are not of Aria's lineage. Aria herself was not aware of this history until she met Ava, whose family had kept some of the lore of the past.
