Understanding culture as this multifaceted sociological phenomenon, and strategically and creatively optimizing its aspects is an indication of an advanced civilization.
It is the next step of asking "what should we do" without appealing to religious authority but instead answering it as a collective.
The alternative is spontaneous cultural direction. You can have spontaneity within a framework, especially then within the creative facets (like art) of culture.
If it is made too rigid, it all becomes like religion and requires discipline or overarching guidance such as with AI integration as a central means of keeping everything and everyone within the rules of the culture (this would be what some call a Nanny State but with AI).
In short, it is about making the best cultural facets because you want to as a people.
You don't have to. But people eventually will in the future. And recurrent discussions about this are a sign that people regard themselves as a truly unified society.
