I Am Not a Bad Man (Sonnet)
I Am Not a Bad Man
By J.C. Solis
Of how they see me, and what I now show
If only, my heart, they would come to know
A big, tall man, and who looks scary too
But my warm heart, if only this they knew
I am a strong man who may now tower
But deep inside me, my soul will cower
I cower to think at what others see
That I am so feared for just being me
My now sorry heart, it wants to show grace
And the warmth of my smile that’s on my face
I Am Not a Bad Man, and this I’ll share
That I am no menace, and that I care
I am sorry for this burden I bare
For I only want what’s honest and fair…
