Besides the great composition (which can be so difficult in photography) and the engaging use of color throughout, I find most particularly effective
- The texture and wistfulness of those dry, dead stalks off in the darkest, coolest corner.
They ground (emotionally and visually) the suspended warmth of the rest.
- The way the backlit veins of the flower in the foreground reveal a delicate vulnerability in the midst of golden radiance.
It calls the viewer to bask in the sunlight here in the now. Life is fleeting and precious.
