I don't do commissions because I don't have the time and I don't want to take money/points and let someone down. I've been in that position on the other side and it sucks, so sadly, until my life gets settled, no commissions. But to the people who've asked for them - thank you for being understanding and polite, and wanting to pay me for my time. I appreciate it. The rest of this post isn't about you.
I'm also not doing requests or free art for anyone right now. Like commissioners, MOST people get this when I say I just don't have the time and are cool with it. To them, I say thank you. I appreciate you understanding.
But there are people who cannot take "no" for an answer. Incidentally, if you're not sure if I'm talking about you - I'm not. Trust me, you'd know because I would have told you.
But the people who can't take no get angry. "You drew for Mayday!" Mayday is my friend. "You drew for Phoenix." Phoenix is kind to me and we've talked. "You drew for--" BECAUSE I WANTED TO. I WANTED TO DO IT. I WASN'T ASKED, I WANTED TO.
I'm giving up on just doing requests. That's done now. I've had too many bad experiences with it on DA and I'm fed up. Either people flipping out because I wouldn't draw, for free, their 40 page comic book about their unbeatable Mary Sue who crushes everyone in their path and will never lose (by the way, unbeatable characters are boring) or some sexy drawing of a woman you don't know but downloaded off Facebook being beaten up (that's not okay). Between that and people I have drawn for who were completely rude and unappreciative of what amounts to a gift of my time and effort, angrily demanding changes or telling me to do better next time, I'm done.
This account is so I can relax. I like to draw catfights. I like to draw femfight. I like to draw pretty ladies. It's fun. I don't like dealing with demanding people who feel they're owed something for free and prove, when they get something for free, they'll be awful about it. I will likely still draw other people's characters, with permission, and do art trades (because I get something out of that, too). But the days of just free art "because" are done.
Also, if you try to "be my friend" just so you can have free art, you're going to be disappointed.
Again, most people here are wonderful but it doesn't take many to make something awful.
