The Floating passage

During my most recent visit to Japan I spent two days in Hiroshima and Miyajima.

The torii of Miyajima is probably the most notable and best known feature of the island. It dominates the bay where it sits, allowing boats to come through at high water and at low water it is even possible to walk all the way out to it.
I unfortunantly didn't have the option to either... but the mere chance to see it is enough for me.
In my goal to see and photograph UNESCO sites this is another site crossed out for me. But even though it is crossed out it doesn't mean I will never come back.

The perfect photo for me here would be to have a photo from the outside, looking inwards in the bay... but that will have to come at a different time...

Hi, I'm a Japanese freelance translator in the UK and currently building a website, and looking for some iconic photos of Japan. Please could I use this stunning photo on my website? I'm not selling it or anything, just inserting it to bring some Japanese tastes. Arigato gozaimasu. :)

Hello, sorry about the late reply.
Yes you may use the photo as long as it is for noncommercial use only.
The only request I make is that there should be some reference near the photo stating the photographer.
If you require a large size version, please don't hesitate to send me a private message and we will come to an agreement as to how we can make the exchange.

I love this place, and I so coming back a later time.
Thinking about bringing my girlfriend here.
She is Japanese, but she told me she has never been here... and the fact that I promised her a stay at a ryokan, that sort of adds perfectly up to this location being a spot to visit.

Thanks for the interest.
I have slightly different angles, but not much of a difference anyway.
